A buddy and I fished Millsite today from 10:30 until about 3:00 in our tubes. The east end of the reservoir was ice capped along with the boat ramp so we put in about half way up the reservoir. The water level is about 12' - 13' lower than this time last year because of the project next year to replace the spillway and raise the dam four feet. We used fly tackle with medium to fast sinking lines and various crystal buggers and leech patterns on size 6-8 hooks. We caught mostly cutthroats from 12" - 16" long and three rainbows from 12" - 14". The water temperature was 40 degrees and the visibility about 4'. We intended to fish Huntington North but we were too late, it's frozen over. It was a slow day fishing and our float tube options are becoming more limited by the day.
