Hello everyone I am fairly new to the site. I am headed down to fish lake in january and am so excited to go down there for the first time. I rented a cabin so I am pretty pumped. I just want to know some basic stuff about the lake ice fishing wise.. has anyone been to it recently that could share some pointers.. I am new to ice fishing but am addicted as of last year and want this trip to be memorable. Let's see how this forum stuff works.. thanks for all the info ahead of time.. Appreciate all responses!!

If the Pikeman sent you PM, listen to his advice. I have always enjoyed reading his reports of that lake and a few others. Fish Lake is a special place and I have converted a few friends to ice fishing by taking them down there. Chub meat works best but a lot of gs will just catch some perch and start cutting that up to use on their jigs. Most guys I read stick to just off the weed line and catch lots of splake and bows that way. We always make the trek across the lake to get away form the crowds, but sometimes you just cant get away from the masses of people but we have always had great success down there.
