I prep the ice tents prior to each season using Kiwi Heavy Duty Water Repellent Camp Dry...works awesome helping repel the water...I also use tie down straps instead of the ropes that come with the tents. Those ropes can be a PITA when the wind comes up and you need to get the sides staked down quick...using straps is nut'n but a thing and the best tent stakes are Eskimo stakes. Including I just leave the straps on the tent and they fold up nicely and easy to adjust. I also check all the seams and inspect the zippers on the tents. So just a little info for you folks with tents if you find your tent getting a little more than soaked or find them ropes a PITA like I do...

One thing Ive started doing with my tent and those anchors is hauling along a 10v small drill with a 5/16 tapered bit in it and Ill put a quick hole in and the anchor screws right in with no hassle of trying to get the anchor to bite when its 5 degrees and blowing. I picked up a drill bit attachment that the anchors are supposed to clip into and you can drill them in but the eskimo anchors don't fit into it, so being a carpenter I improvised with what I have. Works quick.
