Took a gamble and got up super early Saturday morning in search of early season ice. Much to our dismay, we found open water in our honey hole. We continued through our disappointment and checked a few other spots. To our surprise, we found what we were searching for. there were no holes in the ice, so we drilled test holes on our way out, As you can see from the pictures that there are still boats out on the lake, the ice sang to us all morning, we were happy that the fish were willing to join our party. had a great day landed over 30 in about two hours.

Welcome jtmac and thanks for posting. How thick of ice did you find where you fished?

it was about 3 inches right at shore, and it got thinner and thinner the closer you got to open water, the final hole we drilled was about 1.5 inches, we didn't[reply][/reply] dare go out any further.

If you don't want to post here that's fine. But which bay did you find ice in?

Did you ask the guys on the boat in the back ground what they were catching them on?
