Thanks to Tubedude and others with advice, my son and I had a very successful shore excursion at Bear Lake on Saturday. Started the morning on Cisco Beach, straight out from the flag pole. We each set up one rod with cisco and let it soak. With our other rods we started casting spoons. Within 5 minutes I had hooked the first cutthroat on a spoon. While I was releasing the fish, my bait pole started dancing and I reeled in cutthroat number 2. We continued to get bites and hookup with cuts and macks pretty consistently for the next 3 hours. Ended up catching about a dozen fish. The largest was a 27 inch mack that my boy caught and the smallest was an 18 inch cut. About noon we headed out. on the way back we pulled into the marina and gave it a shot off the rocks there. We landed two more cuts here in about 30 minutes. It was a fantastic day of fishing and will be one that me and the boy will be talking about for a long time. BTW, we ended up taking 3 home for good eats, and they were excellent!

Good to see that you had success there.
That is about the same spot last week that we had success. I think we saw you on Saturday just before you left. We were motoring that way and figured somebody had success there because there was a bald eagle on the beach eating something.
I wasn't aware that the techniques you were using where productive this time of year. I guess I will have to get some cisco this year and put it on the calendar for next year.
It sure was a cold day Saturday. That sun did not want to sneak out of the clouds for more than a few minutes at a time.
