Currant Creek 12/29.... Not
#1
We tried to get up to Currant Creek this morning but it was not to be. The road was plowed up to the ranch but not beyond there. We gave it a good try up the steep hill and almost made it but the hill won. Maybe if we had had the off road Jeeps with us we could have made it. Instead we went and joined the crowds at Chicken Creek east at Strawberry. It was very slow, we managed a few of them but not what we expected. No one else we talked to did well either. Maybe next time.....

Thanks for the post. I'm trying to decided on where to go tomorrow. How thick is the ice at Chicken Creek? Did you see any snowmobiles out on the ice?

Thanks!

I was in 14' of water at chicken creek and the ice was about a foot thick. There were snow machines and 4 wheelers on the ice. Caught a few and lost a few. Most of the fish I marked were not interested.

The ice at Chicken Creek varied depending on where we drilled. The first spot had about 10 inches (half clear and half frozen slush). After we saw on camera that the fish where we first started out had no interest we drilled bunch of new holes heading south towards the open lake. The ice in those holes was 10-7 inches of nice clear ice.
Plenty of snow machines have been out on the ice.
