I stopped by the other night in my way home from work. I parked at Charleston bridge and walked out on the ice. The edges were a little soft and made me nervous. Once I got out on the ice, it's a good 4" thick and seems to be growing. Fishing was slow for the guys i visited with that we're up in the north end (mudflat) fishing about 5-7 FOW. One fellow had a nice 16" rainbow, the rest appeared to be planters.

Thanks for the report. Rainbows are the only species I have EVER caught through the ice at DC. Granted I have only fished it in recent years. Sure hope the ice thickens up and maybe some other species show up.

Ice is forming at DC! Was there today and edges have ice in many spots out to 100 yards from shore in places.

Should be pretty fast fishing near the edges I would assume.
