Went out to lost creek yesterday 1/1/16. Every where we drilled had at least 3-6 inches of ice. We stayed by the dam but saw people venture out past the islands so ice must be ok everywhere.. I wouldn't take a machine out on it yet though.. fishing was great. Between 3 of us we iced over 80 fish from 730-1.

Nice report. Sounds like you had an awesome day. Any decent sizes to the fish?

All cutthroat were in the 15-18 inch range with biggest right at 20. We caught a handful of bows too that were all smaller in the 10-12 inch range. It was a good time!!

[cool]sweet! I may have to make a trip up there. Never fished the hard deck there, only soft water.

East Canyon has about 3.5" of ice at Taylor Hollow. Fishing was pretty slow yesterday. I talked to a number of people there and only one guy was having good success (using green jigs tipped w/wax worm along the east side). I ended up with 3 fish including one at 18". Apparently the fishing was quite a bit better on Thursday, possibly a weather-related lull in the bite when I was there. I fished from 9:30-2:30 and caught my fish later in the day, a few feet off the bottom, near the east side, using small white ice fly tipped w/wax worm. Dead sticking with a jaw jacker. None of my larger jigs got touched.

Hit East Canyon yesterday late morning. Started at the South end and could only find 10-11 feet of water. No hits there. Moved up to about 20 feet, but again no takers on a variety of jigs/baits. Talked to a couple of guys that said early morning was great, but that they quit biting after about 10:30 am... Ice was a consistent 4"-5" everywhere I drilled.

We slayed em' at at Taylor Hollow yesterday. I have always found the fish deeper at East Canyon, I never fish in anything less than 30'. I caught somewhere between 25-30 fish and my dad caught about 20 as well.

Great info. I saw a lot of tents down that way. I guess I'll try deeper next trip.
