I'm going to make a trip with a few friends next Saturday. What lake would be my best bet to catch a 20 inch plus Trout in the area? I might to go strawberry but that seems a bit far. Suggestions? Jordanelle, deer Creek, etc... I'm sure most will be frozen up by next Saturday.

Strawberry would be the best bet. But Deer Creek does have some nice ones too. Just have to get through the planters.

Strawberry...
If you want to catch a 20+ inch trout in one day, then Strawberry is you're only option.
Sorry, but you will need more than 1 day to catch a big fish out of Deer Creek or Jordanelle.
The problem with Deer Creek and Jordanelle is that rainbows grow fast, but when they reach about 18-20" there is not enough forage in the lakes to put them in the 20 plus class, in addition to the heavy harvest from the bait crowd. That is why very few rainbows in DC or Jordy exceed 20.
There are certainly large browns present, but you are going to need more than 1 day to catch one. In fact, it may take several years to catch one over 20...But that's why it's called fishing and not catching..

Thanks guys. I had a feeling that I would probably have to go to strawberry to target larger fish. Does anyone else want to chime in?
