Got Lucky @ Holmes
#1
Fished for 2 hours before work today at holmes. Started off shallower with no success so went deeper. I only caught 4 fish but no trout between the 4. I hooked up with a small bass, blue gill, perch and to my surprise a wiper!! Fun to catch all 4 different species within 20 minutes.

Nice report and post! That is a white bass my fellow angler not a wiper. The unbroken stripes will tell the story!

Yes that is is White bass, i caught one in there a couple years ago and called the fish and game because they don't list having that species in there but they said it was a white bass and that they stocked them in there years and years ago and thought they had all died off. I also live right next to holmes. And nice fish

I always found Holmes to be hit or miss. As a kid I remember buckets of large crappie that my dad and brothers would catch.

I did catch a wiper out of there once - about 7 years ago while fishing in to the evening. Was just learning how to catch walleye and bass on summer nights and caught what I thought was a wiper. It was that or a 14 inch white bass. Wish I'd kept a picture.

Through the ice I've only caught one small walleye besides the little trout.

Good job! I like fishing there because of the variety of fish in one place. I also caught a wite bass out of there a few years ago, but it was the only one I've ever caught there.
