Kidney pond 1/4/16
#1
Fished Kidney pond between 12 and 4, action slowed around 3. Caught 15 rainbows that ranged from 6-10 inches, one of these rainbows was charcoal and a deep red in color. Lure of choice was a pink paddlebug tipped with nightcrawler. Ice on the southern 3/4 of the pond was between 5 and 6 inches, there is an open pocket of water on the north end right by the shore that was roughly 6 feet round, this pocket when casting from shore produced the most fish. The southern half has been shoveled by ice skaters so it is very slick, the rest of the pond had about 1/2 an inch of snow.
CAUTION there was a broken beer bottle on the ice that i tried to clean up, there is still some pieces of glass, so if you intend on taking young children let them know not to play with it.
