Pineview Slush
#1
We decided to give Pineview a shot after the snow let up today.
Walked out to Browning Point looking for 40' of water.
About half way out, we hit slush under the snow.
It wasn't bad and stopped after we walked past where people had drilled holes from older trips.

When we got out to 40' of water, we cleaned off the snow to clear ice and drilled a couple of holes.
Water immediately came gushing out from the holes and flooded the ice and snow.

We moved to a different area and packed the snow down rather than shoveling it this time. That worked better and our holes didn't cause as much slush to form.

Fishing was slow but we could see Perch on the finders the whole time that we were there.
My 11 year old grandson got wet feet and cold, so we called it a day after about 3 hours.

I've made that same mistake clearing the snow. Always pack it!

Well thats too bad, how did your back hold up? Sounds like the water level is rising if that much water was coming out of the holes, likely because of that warmer weather last week.[:|]. Hopefully some colder weather will freeze it all up again before too long. Thanks for the report Dale.

Back didn't do very well.
I'm still hurting, today.
Looks like I'm a Pond kind of guy now.

Thats too bad, at least you can get out and pond fish. Take it easy Dale, hopefully fishing from a boat later this year will be ok on you.
