Has anyone been up to Porcupine?

Thinking about making a trip was wondering about the ice conditions. Has anyone been up there yet this year?

I was up there on Wednesday and got the skunk, not even a bite. The edges are soft and I broke through getting on and off the ice. Also there's quite a bit of slush on the ice and I noticed multiple small open water pockets which were not from previously drilled holes. Ice was between 6"-8" so not a problem once you get out there

How is the road going up to the dam, any problem for a 4X4? Thanks.

It's interesting for sure! Snow is rutted the whole way up and around back

Thanks, can't make it up this weekend but maybe next Sat. I'll give it a shot. Are they plowing road into below the dam?

It's plowed to the bottom, nothing up from there. The worst part is getting over the snow where it has been pushed up by the plow going down to the spillway. We made it all the way around the back without a problem, seemed like the worse part was going up the dam.
