Slow Day at Strawberry
#1
I had a slow day today at Chicken Creek East at Strawberry. Two of us fishing, only 4 cutts, all around the 18" mark. I caught one on a bright white 2.5" glow tube, one on a 2.25" glow tube, one on a small rapala jigging rap, and one on a green rat finkee, all tipped with shrimp.

I keep going with people who aren't keen on the idea of a long walk, but we made it over 3/4 mile out (according to a google maps measurement). I fished a little deeper than I have been. We started in 25' water and saw a few fish from 7-9 and then it died. After that we moved to 35', and saw only a handful more until we left at 12:30.

I haven't been skunked, and I've caught a couple of nice fish, but I still haven't had an amazing day on the ice yet. Another guy I saw in the parking lot said he didn't catch anything, so maybe it was just slow today.

Some fish is better than no fish at least you weren't stuck at work today. [fishin]

you didn't get skunked and you didn't get a speeding ticket like I did [pirate]so I'd say it was a good day.

Fished soldier creek twice this week and it seem to be slow in the morning. Between 1:30 to 3:30 in the afternoon was hot for us. Maybe something to do with the moon. Try deeper, 35 to 45 feet, was the ticket today.
