Rockport 1/23
#1
Pretty good fishing today on Rockport so far. In 15' of water at the south end fishing 2feet off the bottom. Landed 2 that were 14" very healthy looking fish and 7 dinky 9" fish so far. Small white tube tipped with wax worm is still doing well. Actually my waxy are even all dead. Fish don't seem to care.

Going to switch to night crawler soon just to see if there is a difference.

Thanks for the report. I just left after 4 hours of fishing that produced 2 fish and 4 window shoppers. Tried depths from 14 to 40 fow with the shallow water producing the best results. Ice was consistently about 8-10" every spot we fished. We tried out towRds the middle and there was about 4" of standing water on the ice after we got holes drilled and set up. Good luck out there!

Where we first tried to access the ice was pure slush down on the south end. We had to walk back north a ways to find a solid spot. It was only 5 degrees this morning so it should freeze up again.

I didn't realize it was slushy down that way. Guess it makes sense with how warm it has been and how shallow that end is.

I usually enter the ice down from the second bathroom and the ice has been pretty good there. Really good to know about the slush down there!
