Steelie Saturday
#1
Decided to opt out of the crowds on Cisco Beach. Drove past the hordes on Strawberry. Did not make it over to Bunny Gulch but it figured to be packed as well. Ended up south of the bridge on Starvation. Met fellow BFTers Wasatch and HuntLoco. Both great guys - few others were south of the bridge today. Fished in 52 FOW. The bottom was covered with perch clouds but they would not bite. Wasatch had a camera down and you could see the fish come to the lure, bump it and leave. I however was after the famous Starvation Steelies. We fished between 12 and 20 feet down. Two of us invited 6 home for the smoker, but had 3 break off, turned one back and had many missed bites (two that nearly took the pole while we were gabbing with the neighbors. Great weather, fun fishing and good company - how could it get better.

Brookie is right, it was a great day! And I was surprised as well how uncrowned the bridge area was. Maybe it's because I had 6 kids with me! (My 4 + 2 nephews) Lol! It was fun to meet him and chat it up for a while. It was also fun to watch the perch on camera despite the lack of appetite and if you ask my kids that was the best part of the day, other than catching! The afternoon bite seemed to really pick up for us. In the end we took home 3 nice rainbows, lost 3 others at the hole, 8 perch (2 of which were jumbos!) and 2 walleye. Not a bad day at all!

Sounds like you guys did very well! You've caught two more walleye than I have so far this ice season. Welcome to BigFishTackle, I'm sure you'll enjoy the posts and the people.
