Illegal Filleting on Pineview?
#1
Watching Gary Winterton on the Channel 2 outdoors show Sat. They were showing how to fillet a crappie, using an electric and regular filleting knives, while they were in their tent, still out on the ice. I am pretty sure it is illegal to fillet your fish until you return to your camp or home.

[#0000FF]That may be true for species that are subject to slot limits or length restrictions. But not for crappies. As long as you leave a 1" or larger patch of skin on the fillet to help identify species you are okay to fillet the fish...on the water or at a shoreside cleaning station. DWR simply wants to be able to check for species and quantity...where there are limits.

There are no specific rules for Pineview that re-guard filleted fish. Here is a snip of the rules.
