Pineview 2/19
#1
We had a fantastic night at Pineview with warm weather,a full moon, and lots of people. It was kind of festive but more importantly the crappie showed up to the party. The fish showed up in numbers at 7:30 and we still biting when we left at 10:30. The ice is still good about 12" but watch your step getting on to it there's 2-3 feet of water around the edges. Fun times.

Starting to open up, hopefully the spring runoff will fill it this year.

I was there for the festivities last night as well. I drilled a number of holes looking for fish but it was pointless until 7:00 when they started arriving. Ended up at my first hole for most of the night. I brought the girlfriend along since she loves catching Crappie. She did pretty well, catching her limit shortly after I caught mine. We did return a few of the smaller ones using my new Panfish Relocation Device (a good sized sinker with a big hook tied in above it, upside down). It took the little guys right back to the bottom where they undoubtedly told a story that nobody would believe.

The fishing wasn't super fast but we ended up with 48 for 2 anglers between 7:00 and 11:15. I noticed the hits would pick up a bit if I changed depth slightly or switched lures. We probably missed 3 or 4 for every one we hooked.

The edges were solid enough to walk on when we got there at 5:30 but they were ugly when we left. A plank would be a good idea if anyone's heading out tonight.
