fished the afternoon bite. the edges were fine getting on and off. The ice was 12 inches thick. Best bite was between 4:30 and 6:00 pm. Lots of perch, jigging rapala with a perch eye was the best lure. wind was non stop. several people fishing the tunnel inlet where there is open water.

Good to see you posting again Marylin and thanks for the report and pics. I've been having good success with a jigging rapala myself this Winter, were you putting the perch eye on the tail or heard of the jig? I'm not sure it matters but I've been putting the eye on the head end and I small piece of meat on the tail end.

we put the perch eye on the treble hook that dangles under the rapala. That way it moves when you shake the pole.

How big were the perch, any over 10"?

we had a few that were 10 inches, nothing over. kept lots for future trips to be bait.
