I'm in Manila, Utah this weekend. Let's fish!
#1
If anyone would like fishing together, then just send me a private message. I'll probably go shore fishing and looking for ice off conditions where I can cast onto ice from shore to let my lure fall off into water, but I'm flexible for other sorts of fishing and have plenty of equipment and lures. Also, advice on locations invited. I have good Verizon data connectivity on my tablet, so I'll be in communication most places.

Update: I'm about to be fishing at Sheep Creek at the inlet this evrening. Wearing camouflage. Come visit and fish!

RPF: I contacted a local on Friday regarding trying to shore fish Sheep Creek this weekend. He indicated to me there was still ice on sheep creek bay. Wondered what conditions you found there today?

Photograph is looking at the inlet about halfway from the boat launch at dusk (6:39 P.M.) and as far as I got from being parked at the boat launch. Ice might be a couple hundred yards from the inlet and after that it's six to ten feet from shore. I fished another hour. I read your post there, but connection speed was to slow to reply and failed. This is posting from Manila.

I saw a large bass under the edge of the ice, but it wasn't interested in any of the lures I tried. I even tried glow plastics after dark. What works?

I have quite a collection of the best lures, but a friend is suggesting Power Bait. Though I've seen it to be very effective in community ponds, I've favored development of real fishing skills instead and almost think of Power Bait as cheating. I compromised and tipped lures with Gulp maggots yet still didn't catch a fish.

I will likely try open water at the inlet late morning unless I get better advise or fish with a Big Fish Tackle member, if one of us contacts me. I might stay to fish Monday.
