Sand Hollow fishing
#1
Is it too early for the bass to start biting at Sand Hollow? I was going to buy a pass but I may wait till April. I bought a couple of spinnerbaits I want to try out there. I was thinking of going out near the dam when the weather is warm and calm.

I've already seen some pigs caught of there. Lots of 2 pounders also.

Is it better to fish at the crack of dawn or later in the day when it is warmer, 10 or 11am?

The pictures I have seen looked like the middle of the day but I haven't go the details. I know when I've been down there early I do real well in the late afternoon.

The evenings seems best in the early spring. The water will warm a bit during the day getting the fish active.

The boy and I went down sat and didn't get on the water till 10 left at 3 and had a blast. We didn't get anything big, one close to 3 but catching was fun. didn't matter what we threw they bit. from 6-34 fow.
UBTT had a tournament and I heard they had 14lbs in two fish for first weigh in. water temp was 55 by the time we left.

Now's the time to be there. Tight lines and good luck

Went down last Sunday to fish. We just fish from the shore. Ended up catching 6 in about 4 hours between us. 17.5", 16", 15", couple 14" and 1 12.5". Bass looked really healthy. We did not really get any bites after about 9am. Bass were hitting when we started fishing at about 7:30 (wish we were there 30 minutes earlier, we might have had more).

If anyone is boating out there, I will say it again, please respect us little shore fisherman. You have a damn boat and can go anywhere on the lake. Just because you see us catching fish does not mean you should fly up on us and troll within casting distance only to speed off when you do not catch anything. We had 3 boats Sunday come within 20' of the shoreline where we were fishing. My son and I were about 100' apart and a boat parked his sorry ass in between us. Meanwhile, there was a 1/4 mile of dike open with no one fishing :/
