Yup, a friend and I waited for a good 'Bad Weather' day, like today, Tues. to hit the hard water again at Strawberry...last week we fished it on a 'high pressure' day (30.10) and did lousy, 1 fish for the three of us....Today, fishing the same area, with storminess and 'low pressure' (29.70) the change in fish activity was remarkable...2 of us, combined, had at least 3 dozen hits...I had at least half of those hits, and put 10 large cutts on the ice, plus 2 falling off right at the hole...my buddy had a hard time icing the fish, but had a great time trying, and overall it was an amazing fishing day...all releasers, 171/2 to 20"...ice still in great shape, maybe even thicker than last week...Gechasum...Guluk...

Nice report, glad you did well.
Is the ice still in good shape for snow machines? How thick?
thanks!

Tks Allfish -- no problem with the ice, a good 20" where we were drilling (and no problem drilling with DeWalts 20v commercial grade power drill on Clam's converter plate!) We saw 3 or 4 snowmobiles out, a couple just zooming around for the fun, and only 2 other groups seen fishing the ice...I wanted to go over and talk to the one group (also in a red Eskimo) but a couple blocks too far away when the fish were still biting made me stay put...hope you make it out...

Glad you had a good day fishing, The snowmobile has been prepped for storage and put away until this next winter. Waiting on my new Minn-Kota bow mount to get here to replace my old one. Need to get on the water and chase some eyes and going to try and sneak a couple days in at C.J. this next month for some perch jerk'n. Hope to see you on the soft deck.

How deep was the snow up there? My buddy wants me to go bear chasing with him this weekend but I don't feel like hiking 10 miles in snowshoes...

Good luck with your boat and new motor...I've had mine tuned and ready to go since the beginning of the month, but hey, if there's still good ice and a bite at Strawberry, I'm leaving the long poles sit awhile yet...I'll probably start trolling at E.C. high up with my canoe soon, but maybe 1 more trip on the ice first...Guluk...

Maybe only 2 or 3 " new snow, and the roads were surprisingly clear...what little new snow they got was blown out pretty much, so not much Heber thru Daniels, nor down into (or onto) the reservoir itself.....Packers always beat those Bears...(ref. 'youtube' "Ice Fish Baby") but Guluk if you make it out....

Wow. Never been in a no pressure area. Does that make your ears pop?
