After all the construction work is done, are they going to reopen the parking area on the north east side ?? This is one of my favorite spots to park and walk out.. Its been closed now for to DANG long.. Any info my friends ???

They were using that entrance to get construction equipment on and off the dike while raising the dike. The raising project is pretty much completed but there is still equipment and materials up on the dike so it may be a while yet.

Last year when I talked to the Willard Park manager, he said they had no plans to reopen that parking lot because last year or the year before, someone used that access road to get into their State Parks lot and steal one of their trucks. Thats the reason it has been closed so long, this happened before they started work on raising the dike. I guess that could change but thats what he told me.
