Okay this is just for fun. I am trying to get to know Utah Lake better so I thought I would just see how everyone answers these two questions.
Question #1 - In you opinion, what two species of fish in Utah Lake do you think are the most tasty to eat?
Question #2 - In your opinion, what two species of fish in Utah Lake are the most fun to reel in? (Maybe not the best tasting fish, but fun to fight)

I like Kent's answer!
In all seriousness my favorite fish to eat from Utah Lake are the bluegill and crappie. I would say walleye but I haven't tasted one from UL and I don't specifically target them there. There are yellow perch in there and they taste fine but you won't find them in abundance. The channel cats taste excellent fried, grilled, smoked, and poached. If I were starting out fishing Utah lake I would target channel cats. What you will find is that a lot of species will hit baits intended for catfish. I've caught bluegill on white bass meat before and of course, white bass in white bass meat. I've also caught plenty of cats, white bass, and various members of the sunfish family on a jig head tipped with a chunk of crawler.
Carp are fun to fight but I will pass on eating them from Utah Lake. If you want to try carp, DC has some big ones without the PCB advisory.

1) Walleye
2) Big cats or carp. Fight like hell.

1. Jumbo bluegills and crappie. I agree with wagdog. Yes, I have had walleye out of there, and they were good, but not quite as tasty as the panfish there.
2. Channel cats, largemouth bass. Carp are in there too.
