Utah Muskies, Inc Chapter Coming Soon...
#1
A group of us are laying the ground work on establishing a Muskies, Inc Chapter here in Utah.

This year is the 50th year celebration (1966-2016) of this organization and all its numerous chapters.

Muskies, Inc focuses on three critical areas: Youth, Fisheries, and Research

The purposes of Muskies, Inc are:

To promote a high quality Muskellunge sport fishery;

To support selected conservations practices based on scientific merit and carried out by authorized federal and state agencies;

To promote Muskellunge research;

To establish hatcheries and rearing ponds and introduce the species into suitable waters;

To support the abatement of water pollution;

To maintain records of habits, growth and range of species;

To disseminate Muskellunge information;

To promote good fellowship and sportsmanship among men, women and children.

Here's a link to the organization if you desire to take a lookee see...

Yes Muskies, Inc, has very successful Chapters in numerous states doing a whole lot of great things within the states and for the organization on a national level.

Hoping to get a chapter started up here in Utah. Including working with state and local DWR/DNR officials on this species. Along with the benefits to the state with Tiger Muskies in controlling rough fish in the biomass along with potential funds to support the overall program plus why stocking muskies is important and why releasing Muskies is also important.

It will take work and a strong commitment from chapter members. As it isn't just hey we have a chapter...you have to work to get approved to be a chapter and that doesn't happen overnight...takes several months.

Right now we have close to a dozen committed members and more are inquiring...these folks are hard working and are committed to the future establishment of a Muskies, Inc., Utah Chapter.

This chapter will be a win-win for the state of Utah as we see it.

WOW and thanks for all who have inquired...currently we are in the provisional stages of being a Muskies, Inc. registered chapter here in Utah. For those who have signed up we thank you...and only good things to follow for the state of Utah and its quest on establishing a great foundation for this awesome fish.

There are five phases required to gain a recognized Chapter. We believe this is a very good thing as Muskies, Inc is nationally recognized and wants to ensure potential chapters have a strong membership foundation. Couldn't agree more. It will be work and commitment but well worth it just like anything in life one has a desire to truly learn about and alls a student.

They call Muskies the fish of 10,000 casts for us here in Utah with what the DWR has provided folks have a great opportunity to really learn about this species and be involved with other potential fisheries to control rough fish in the biomass, education on the species from die hard Tiger Muskies anglers, and for Utah youth a whole new potential opportunity to learn about another species and hook into a fish of 10,000 casts

Again a HUGE THANK YOU to all folks who have inquired and have signed up to be involved...will be a good thing for this state and we thank the DWR from the late to mid 80's for considering and now stocking this awesome species...only good things to follow for years to come as we see it.

If you desire to learn about this species and want to be involved well just send me a PM and your on the road to really learning about this awesome species.

[#800000]Hat's off to ya girl. Not much into it myself, but agree it can only benefit Utah overall. Now I know what you plan on doing after retirement. [Wink][/#800000]
