Joes Valley 4-1

My buddy and I hit JV on Friday looking for some trout action. We trolled for close to 5 house and marked two fish on the fish finder the entire time. The lake was a desert! They're probably all bunched up in one spot the size of a house, and we couldn't find it. We had planned to spend the night and hit it again Saturday, but we both agreed that it was probably pointless to spend $100 on a hotel for nothing, so we drove back around noon. From the other reports from around the area that I'm reading, it sounds like Friday was the day we all should have slept in! Fred K.

Me and my dad were there Sat fished from 11am until 5pm fishing was tough we did manage 1- 36" Muskie near the Dam 1-3lb Tiger trout over by the cliffs 3-Splake 15-17" and 6-16-20" Cutthroat trout near Lowery Water. We trolled, deadsticked minnows and casted 3" Gulp Minnows. My Fish Finder was not lighting up either. Weather was good and seeing a Muskie was nice. Really thought we would do better with the trout though.

Heck, you killed them compared to us! We casted for about 30 minutes up shallow, but weren't seeing anything, so we went back to trolling. Very cool that you got a musky this early in the year! I'd like to try it again, but its a 3 hour drive from Ogden, and that's a long way to go to get skunked! Fred.
