Strawberry 4/2
#1
I fished Strawberry about 3/4 mile out from the Marina today, same spot as last weekend. I fished from about 6:30 to 12:15, and caught 9 slot cuts and 1 rainbow. Overall it was a bit slow, but average for me this year.

I started in 15 FOW and then moved out to 25. Most fish (except the 'bow) were in the bottom half. I should have moved again or left by 10, because it was completely dead by then.

The ice is holding up well, every spot I drilled was 18+ inches. The edges were still solid at 12:15, and I saw lots of snowmobiles and one 4-wheeler, nobody seemed to have any issues.

Thanks for the report. I am planning on taking a trip up there tomorrow. Do you by chance know how the ice is over at the ladders?

Went to ladders today and the ice was fine. Caught two cuts in slot.

Heading up again this Tues. this time with my grandson, so I'm hoping we get into some for his sake...I've never fished the evening bite here at Strawberry...have you done this before and had success thru the ice? I know it's worked very good (nite bite) for me at Pineview, but I haven't thought about it for the cutts...are you seeing others out at nite also? We'll be there in the A.M., but it'd be fun to try evening some time...

This was the first time I had ever done a night fishing expedition on the berry. There was not another soul on the lake in fact I never saw another person anywhere. The bite was fast and furious for the first hour and then it slowed down. Overall a fun trip and I would like to do it aging before ice off.

Did u fish over by the marina at night? How deep of water. I fished the ladders on Sunday. Fished in about 20 to 35 feet of water. The fishing was pretty slow but managed to land 5, and had a couple quick releases. I want to get another trip in next weekend, and Friday night might be my only chance.

Yes I fished out from the main marina in about 20 FOW. The fishing was non stop for the first hour but then it slowed to 1 every 15 to 20 min. I'd like to get up and do it again myself.
