Fished on the tube today with the electric troller. The day was amazing weather. Slight breeze but calm water (other than boat wakes).

Fished the first and second bays south of the launch ramp trolling at 5mph doing zig zags (partly because I need more experience with a transom mounted trolling motor) landed 4. Had 6 on. Fished a 4" long jointed rainbow rapala. Only fished for a few hours. People I talked to coming off the lake mentioned they weren't having much luck.

Put flippers on and then turn the wad of the motor around so that it pulls instead of pushes. Use your feet to steer. Also don't forget that when a motor gets out on a tube or toon one must then register it.

Do you have instructions on registering it? Is it like with the dmv?

Also. Thanks for the input. I will have to play with it to figure out what you mean. I had my fins on but up out of the water. But I was manipulating the position constantly and it was not super fun to do with the angle of the handle hehind me.

Yes you register it with the DMV. When you get your numbers or HIN you will need to attach them to the craft. I used plexiglass cut into plates and attached with zip ties. Prior to that I used Velcro. Both work well.
To turn the motor head around there should be a screw at the base of the head. Remove it and turn the head around. Then replace screw. Then lock the handle in position. No need to turn the motor to steer. Your feet do the work. All you need to do then is turn the power on and off. If it is too difficult to reach the handle then hit the lowes or Home Depot electrical section. Pick up some blue flexible conduit. Cut to length and attach to the handle with a hose clamp. This will give you an easy extension of the handle so that it becomes easier to use and reach.

I need to retrofit not of my trailers for this boat I have been transporting t in an enclosed trailer which seems a little overkill.

Nice. You got the motor. I went up yesterday morning and fished the same area you hit today. About the same catching as you. Used a rapala and a wooly bugger. There were some guys on shore at that same spot catching a few yesterday as well.

This was taken last year. As the day wore on it almost got to the point you could walk across Willard without touching water.

Just fyi, I put an electric motor on my 4 man raft and when I went to register it I was told by the dmv it was not necessary unless the trolling motor is over 50hp.

Whoever told you that is incorrect or you mightve heard wrong. You need to register it even if you put an electric motor or sail. You don't have to get insurance on boats that have less than 50hp is what they probably told you or meant to say.

All motorboats and sailboats must be properly registered with current registration decals to legally operate on Utah waters. Certificates of registration and annual registration decals are obtained by presenting the proper application form, fee, and validated tax certificate to the Utah Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Exceptions to registration include canoes, kayaks and other vessels not propelled by motor or sail,

Probably, I have two registered and when I did the secon one I was glad I had my cabelas receipt with me or they would have charged me state sales tax too. My experience showed that some of the clerks know what they are doing and some don't have enough experience registering them. At least now all I have to do is renew the registration each year rather than go through the mess of initial registration.

So the fee is just $10.00 now for a toon ? First time I registered mine it was $34.00. Haven't done it for several years and was going to go do it this year, so I'll keep a watch out for how much they try to charge me !! Thanks for the heads up on that Bob !!
