Hello All,
I am wanting to take my Dad Walleye wrangling at Starvation, I am not asking for 2 many secrets but, a little help would be nice. I am thinking of starting at Dusk and throwing crankbaits and swimbaits into the shallows on the North and East end of the lake until midnight or so?? Am I completely off base?
Any hint would be appreciated even on the bass
thanks,

I would start two or three hours before sundown. The majority of the walleye that I caught in Deer Creek on Saturday were hooked before the sun even hit the horizon. Anything that reduces the lights ability to penetrate the water can help improve the bite be it from clouds moving in or a slight breeze that puts a little chop on the water.

The first ones were hooked on a perch patterned F7 Shad Rap. As the light diminished I switched to a size M7 Flicker Shad that had a pink belly with white sides and a chartreus back that was picking up hits until about 10 PM.
That's another point. As it gets darker use baits that are brighter and make more noise so that they are easier for the fish to find.
I figure that I was catching them as they moved from deeper water on their way up to the weed beds to feed for the night.
So no your ideas aren't to far off base.
