Cool. I was there this morning myself in the float tube. I got a 23 inch, two at 15, released a ten inch and missed five others. I wish I could start earlier but I got on about 6:30 this morning.

Question for you DC fisherman.. Is the island boat ramp a state Park? Reason I asked is because I have the annual pass and wanted to make sure it's good there too.. I always lunch in the main ramp and fish around there.. but maybe would like to try fishing by the island since I've never been there..

Yes.

All of the fee areas are a part of the state park system.

Thank you.. do they also have a decontamination station there or do you have to go to the main ramp to get hosed down?

They do have a decontamination site there, however, it's not always open, especially early and late in the day.
