I just saw on the fish stocking report that the DWR put something like 447 wipers in Wellsville pond. Anybody know about this or is it a mistake on their website?
Also, the Stocking report shows only 240 rainbows stocked in strawberry this year. Whats up with that? No wonder I only like that lake for Kokanee's and crawdads! Without catching fish that I can take home it has really almost stopped me from going to strawberry.

I wouldn't put to much stock in that report. They've posted wrong information before.

According to the last few years history...Strawberry doesn't get its rainbows stocked until fall.

The DWR has been stocking some Community ponds with Wiper for a fun and surprising catch.
The Rainbow in Strawberry could be an error in the posting report or it could be an overage from a hatchery.
You could call the DWR for a better answer.

Thanks guys, I was just curious. I suppose I should have thought about the possibility of strawberry getting stocked with rainbows in the fall.
Cool idea i suppose to put the extra wipers in community ponds and give others a chance to catch them that would not be able to otherwise.

Messaged the DWR about it and they confirmed they did put wipers into Wellsville. They haven't replied yet about the size of the fish put into there tho.
