Thanks Pat, I was wondering if you have heard anything about the access issue at Lincoln beach.

[#0000FF]Not likely to be changed any time soon. It will be a joint thing between DWR and the state. I am waiting for Laura Ault to get back with me to set up a joint meeting between Chris Crockett (DWR), myself and Laura at Lincoln Beach to complete a site inspection and discuss potential changes.

I've fished at the first spring a couple of times since recovering from the deer hunt. Drove my truck out, no trouble, no jail... fishing good for cats.

Not fishing related but.... gotta show off pic of gson (Catcarsen) and his first deer. Took advantage of the "mentoring" program to let him hunt and use my tag. Fun.

That's one cool looking buck. He's really thick on his left side and those eye gaurds are some long one's. It looks like you need to give those cat's a break more often in the fall.... :-)

I didn't figure they would get to serious about keeping us out of there or there would be cement blocks there.

tell the gson congrats on the good looking buck.[Smile]

Thanks for the update on the cat fishing and for sharing the deer picture. Way to go Carson! (Well and Grandpa too)

So did you find a 36" cat right after the contest ended?

No 36 incher yet but plenty of nice sized cats. Caught one just under 30 inches that had an old golf ball sized bobber he was dragging around. Did him a real favor and released the hook and bobber to lighten his load a bit.

I'll fish there a few more times as the weather permits. Would like to go Sat. with crew but I'm afraid the opening of the pheasant hunt will be similar to the opening of the duck hunt... good time to sink a little lower in the fox hole.

Had a fun deer hunt with family but it is becoming painfully evident that 75-year-old legs with titanium knees are no match for 15-year-old legs that have been playing football for the past two months. Nice to be able to claim old age when it comes time to drag deer out though.[Wink]
