Fish Lake Oct 27, 28, 29
#1
Got down to Fish Lake and was able to fish a bit on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from my boat, mostly along the east side. It was windy, with the waves white-capping for much of the time. Rainbows were going crazy -- we would drag four lines behind the boat at trolling speed and often had multiple hooked up at one time. We used mostly Jakes, but nearly everything we threw out was getting hits.

We probably caught 100+ rainbows and a couple splake. They were generally between 10-14". Some of them were quite fat. They were quite fun to catch, hitting the lures hard and often coming up out of the water a few times during the retrieve.

There were fish throughout the water column, and we tried going deeper (40-70 feet) but on the rare occasions where we hooked up at depth we ended up with just another 12" rainbow. I would like to have worked the deeper fish more, but it was just more interesting for my guests on the boat to be catching fast and furious, so we stayed on the top most of the time.

Looking forward to ice season!

Hope it stays good there through the ice season. Last year we struggled to have good days on the ice.
