[#0000FF]Had a plan to meet up with SkunkedAgain at the north marina this morning. TinCan showed up in his boat later, as did Ahi1953 in his new-to-him Water Otter (pontoon).
Jeff and I were first there and first on the water. At our 7 am launch it was 40 degree air temp and 53.4 water temp. Glassy calm. Kinda hazy around the edges but nice.
Fished outside the marina and along the humps and bumps (Rocky's Reef). Saw very few fish on sonar but we saw a lot more than we caught. The skunked one lived up to his handle. And Ahi also finished with zilch. Not sure about the tin man. He was fishless when he left us floater types to head for the west side of the lake.
I fared only slightly better...with two cookie cutter kitties for 5 hours on the water. Better than skunk smell...but only barely.

I guess we now know for sure...fish are Democrats. And they're sulking.
It was a beautiful day, though. I even birdied a par-5.

[#0000FF]If my memory serves correctly...and it does so less and less these days...this was probably the first time we were within chatting distance on the water at the same time. Always good to see ya. See ya again at the catfish doin's. And I believe Ahi will be there too.
Glad you chased away the skunk.

[#0000FF]Not so sure we can make fish political. I prefer to think that they are all imbued with an excess of female chromosomes. They seem to do whatever they want...whenever they want...without any regard to our fragile male egos.
Birdies? I saw a few too. Even saw an eagle at Eagle Beach...just east of Rocky's Reef. But there were no golf clubs involved.
Congrats on your fine play. Hope your final tally reflected your skill...in a good way.

Nope, played like I was spasming rather than swinging. But a day of golf is exactly like a day of fishing - the score doesn't matter; it's the day that counts.

[#0000FF]My sentiments perzackly.
The best time to go fishing (play golf) is whenever you can.
Fishing is always good...even when the catchin' ain't. And I suppose you could say that golf is always fun even when you don't set a course record.
Unfortunately, many anglers/golfers take their sport too seriously and get all warped when things do not work out perfectly. Our lakes, streams and golf course water hazards are littered with the gear flung there by over-reacting "sportsmen". Sad.

TD, my wife had me busy this morning so I didn't make it to Treasurton or Willard until 2 pm. Things were a little more productive on the west side. Ended up with a nice wiper and three cats. Caught the wiper in the first 15 minutes on plastic (white and chartreuse) then kicked around till 4 pm. All three cats caught between four and five yesterday evening on a gulp minnow. Wiper was in 15 FOW and the kitties in 10 to 12 FOW. Good to see some boats out there for a change. Even had a bank fisherman at three light pole. I think I'm starting to like this afternoon fishing on the bay. Kind of nice to let it warm up a bit before hitting the water. Seems like all week the kitty bite comes on pretty good about four or so and lasts to sundown.

[#0000FF]Seems like the afternoon/evening bite has been best lately...since the water warms a bit during the day. But I was not trying so much for wipers or cats as I was walleye, crappie or possible perch...none of which were harmed yesterday.
Glad you had some action. Let's see what next week's weather does to the program.

[#0000FF]Good that you could join us but not good that the fish didn't wanna play with you.
After getting a good close look at your new ride I am sure we will be able to rig up something to be able to add an electric motor on it. That is a good strong frame with a design that will allow easy modification.
Stay in touch and feel free to PM me if you need more suggestions or ideas...or just need to run your ideas past me for input. I have done a few.

Hey Pat, it was a beautiful day and I got a great relaxing ride on the pond without any stressful fighting with those wrascally finny critters... Thanks for the invite and the visit, was sure fun to chat and share adventures... and tackle tips... I'll catch ya next time at the feast and I'd like to pick up some tackle there if you'll bring some extra... Thanks J
