You definitely caught a deformed one. Despite being bent it seems to be plenty healthy.

I haven't fished Joe's Valley for musky though I would really like to. My tiger musky experience has been at Newton Reservoir, Pineview, and Johnson. But, after seeing pics of fish caught at Joe's Valley--including yours in this post--it seems that the Joe's Valley tiger musky are a bit on the thin side. I always felt like the tiger musky I caught at Newton were skinnier than the tiger musky I had caught at Pineview and the tiger musky at Johnson were fatter than the tiger musky at Pineview. Does anybody think the tiger musky at Joe's Valley or anywhere else seem thinner or fatter than other fisheries relatively speaking?

I think that I've only ever caught one musky out of Joes Valley that I would consider skinny. Usually they're thick as all get out. Even the small ones are tanks. Not necessarily fat, but very thick! They eat very well in that lake. In Pineview I've had both..... some fat pigs, and some skinny snakes, but mostly just solid fish. At Newton, I've seen a few pigs come out of there, but mostly average size to skinny fish. I can't comment on Johnson as I've never fished it. Fred K.
