East canyon 11/12/16

Wiperslayer and I got up to EC yesterday, to give it a try. We arrived around 8am, water temp was 49* at launch. We headed to Taylor hollow and started trolling. We did not want to mess with the down riggers, so we just long lined it with weights and it seemed to work good for the first couple of hours. I used pink/orange Nitro lure, with good success. Most of the bows we caught were 11 to 12" Finless Freddies but we also caught enough of the carry over fish to keep things interesting. I rarely get out and fish on the weekends any more, so it kind of surprised me the number of folks we saw, mainly fishing from shore but there were also 5 or 6 boats there as well. It was a great morning, with lots of sun and little to no wind but just when I thought I could take off my hoodie, the wind came up and I was glad I left it on.[shocked] They still have a boat dock out but there is only a single lane to launch on.
