Last year at this time I ice fished Trial Lake on 4" of ice.
Yesterday Trial Lake was ice free, but after a short hike above to Lake Marion I found it. Won't be long now...
Fishing at Trial was slow - as in slow retrieves caught fish.

Sweet! Found a little ice up that way last week. Not enough to fish though.

Got some ice this morning on my farm pond in Cache Valley, sort of a surprise to me.. Guess 15 degrees makes a difference... Guess it's too bad the cold isn't sticking around longer to start building a deck, but weather report looks like it will leave as fast as it showed up... Fun to start thinking about it though... Later J

Even the forecast for the high country is a bit too warm for the next 7 days. I had hoped that the lakes along the Mirror Lake Highway would freeze before UDOT closes the gates. UDOT says they close the highway late November and we are just about there.

That would be fun to drive up to those lakes with ice fishing available. Hope we get safe ice up there soon. Later J
