Went for an excursion up the Mirror Lake Highway in search of Ice this morning. We tried Lily first. Found about 1.5 30 feet out. Went to Crystal and only could get out 5 feet at 1 inch of ice. Last stop was at Moosehorn. Went out and found 2.5. Yahtzee. Went out until we found 7 feet of water. Only fished for half an hour but managed to get 2 tigers. Was super fired up to be able to hit the hard deck this early. Don't know how long it'll hold on 33 degrees up there on the way out.

You two are crazy, but looks like you were prepared for a dip so good on ya. Glad you got a few and first ice of the season award goes to you. Nice job. J

We were prepared to go for a "swim" for sure. Picks, Life jackets and throw ropes.

The road was great. No problems at all. Supposed to get some weather tomorrow night though.

I could see your preparations in the pictures, pretty good that two nights can give you enough ice to go. Glad you didn't have a swimming story. Later J

Lets hope the weather stays cold and dry for the next few days. It would be fun to get up there and not need to use snowmobiles

This was the first time I have been able to ice fish up there and it was a blast.
