Thanks TD. This gives hope to the situation. The graph showing the levels over history is very interesting. It helps to look at it with a different perspective.

[#0000FF]Yes, indeed, that was an interesting article on the changing levels of Utah Lake.
On another note...for those of us who have been involved in trying to get access for the public to the rock shelves off Lincoln Point...it looks like we can fish or launch small craft there during low water without needing bail money. I got a call last week from Ben Stireman of the Utah division of FFSL. We had a meeting with him and folks from DWR a couple of weeks ago. He was initially skeptical about being able to get existing laws amended to make an exemption to the state's restrictions on driving on exposed lakebeds. But he got creative and contacted both the county (sheriffs) and DWR to let them know it was temporarily okay to allow public access for fishing and related. However the officers will still be policing the area and will cite non-anglers who are trashing the place, vandalizing or building illegal fires, etc.
I was impressed. During our meeting I made the point that the current low water conditions only happen every few years...and when they do that Lincoln Point is the only game in town for bank tanglers or small craft launchers. So we aren't looking for the State to address legislature to get a law change...just a bit of temporary papal dispensation...or whatever. And it seems that is what we got.
Now that it is snowing we are hopefully going to get enough water back in the lake so that we can launch from the marinas again...and won't need to drive out on the rocks. Here's hopin'.

Not only will the Saratoga Springs harbor be dredged a couple of feet, there will also be a 'trench' dredged almost a 1/2 mile out in to the lake to ensure water gets to the newly dredged marina.
Fishing the 'trench' could prove very interesting in the future as hopefully fish will gravitate to a change in the lake bottom.

[#0000FF]I contacted the Utah Lake Commission to see if there were any updates on dredging the State Park harbor. Got this back.

Unfortunately, that particular project has been delayed from the original estimated start date.
The bids by contractors, to remove the material, are all in. However, they are still trying to find a location for the 13,000 cubic yards of material that will be removed. The material has to have a large enough location to dry out, so there is continuing discussion as to where is best to do that.
Letters are being exchanged between the attorneys with the State Park and Ivory Homes, to make sure everything is done correctly. The anticipate selecting a bid right after Christmas, and estimate the dredging will likely happen closer to spring.
That being said, I will continue to reach out to the State Park to stay up to date on information, and hopefully speed things along if I can.
