I have found the chub fishing to be good all day long. They come through in schools so there could be some slow periods. Move every 30 minutes until you find them.

My experience at Scofield last week had was a chub bite all day long. There would be short quiet periods of maybe 10-15 minutes and then another school would move through. Each school had plenty of hungry fish. We caught them on spoons, ice flies, larger perch imitation jigs, and rat finkees. I don't think it mattered a whole lot. Just had to tip each lure with a small chunk of crawler. Got plenty of bait and the kids had a great time.
