I'm all about trying to beat my own personal records while ice fishing. I just never thought I'd be beating that record in the 'smallest' category. So a friend and I got into some really nice bluegill, had a hard time getting the perch to play but we got one 10" top side. But overall I was happy getting into some really good bluegill. That being said, we caught ALOT of little dink bass and bluegill too. I caught one (see picture) bass so small, I kept thinking I was just missing the bite but at last, he was hooked solid. He didn't even bend my spring bobber. Best part was when I released it, my jig sank faster than he could swim. So I was watching my jig go down on my flasher, the bass too. I saw a nice sized fish come off the bottom and I thought he's going to slam my jig. Well he went straight passed the jig to the bass and the little fella's mark disappeared. It was a good laugh, not sure what ate him but that fish couldn't resist.
