Hey guys wondering if anybody takes snowmobiles out on the ice here. We are going over Saturday and my dad has a hard time walking through deep snow to access the lake. Thanks

You may have noticed the Starvation report I posted Tuesday evening. It is my opinion a snowmobile or an ATV could be used on the Knight Hollow area as long as the operator is careful to avoid what may be a small area of open water near the shore east and south of where we walked onto the ice. The ice in the area of Knight Hollow where we fished on Tuesday is about 8 to 10 inches thick and there was a layer of frozen slush about 5 inches thick on top of the ice. There is some snow on the ice but it wasn't very deep and walking was fairly easy on the ice. Walking to the edge of the lake required walking through about 250 yards of knee deep snow. A snowmobile would certainly make it much easier to get onto the ice. If the open water area is still there you should be able to see it when you come down the hill to the inflow canal.
Please be careful if you venture beyond where our tracks are. We didn't go very far to the south and west and the ice conditions could be much different elsewhere on the lake. I hope this helps you. Good luck. Mike [signature]

Thanks alot for the reply. Getting to the lake is my biggest concern for him. I was thinking king even if we just rode them to the edge of the ice would make it easier on him. Are you going to the tournament this weekend?

No tourney for me. I usually have to work on the weekends. I normally try to fish on Tuesdays or Thursdays since those are my regular days off.
