#1

I read some where that the state record bass is over 10lbs. Do you know who caught it? Where was the Bass caught? i would like to try a few freshwater places. I mainly fish saltwater.

Yes, it was 10.5 ounces, caught in Andrews lake in Dover. It ws caught in late December, and the lake was frozen at the time. It is 18 acres, and in my opinion was not caught there, and probaly not caught in Delaware. All the Delaware Records are listed at my site. I caught what is considered by most to be the "real" state record, because it was caught in modern times, with certification by Bassmaster magazine, the News Journal, and it appeared in all of Bass Pro Shops Master catalogs for 2003 on page 90. It was 10.16 pounds, 4 ounces off the state record so they say. Stop by my site for more information. Congratulations on your big Bass.Your reply though leaves me some what puzzled. You say it was certified by BassMaster Mag. and the News Journal. How can a magazine and a newspaper certify a fish.At what official weigh in site did you weigh this fish?

I didn't. We dont drag around bass that big, they usually dont survive. If its a tournament, then we do it since we do it for a living, but it wasnt caught in a tournament. We weigh everything on digital scales, videotape them, and take still pictures, and measurements on camera, then release them. We saw it was jumping between 10.0 and 10.1, and knew it was not going to be more than an ounce over the 10.5 it would have taken to beat the one that existed so it was released in Noxontown Lake right after all the photos, video, and measurements were taken. The documentation was then sent in to Bassmaster, the news journal, and NAFC, amoung others, and that is how it was certified. Take a look at my sites photo album to see that fish and others from Delaware in the 5 to 8 pound class. [cool][#0000ff]You do good work. Nice pics and good ethics. No need to sacrifice a good spawner just for the ego trip.[/#0000ff]
