Planning on Tubing DC Saturday
#1
I drove by DC today and there's enough open water around the main ramp TODAY (with no freezing temps in the forecast before Saturday morning) for a tube trip.

As long as the weather forecast does not deteriorate from today (8MPH wind, slight chance snow, 38 degree high) -- I'm planning to hit DC for my SECOND tube trip of the year this Saturday.

A cold snap next week may re-freeze the open space, but right now it looks like a cautionary GO for a tube trip.

When I left the house to go to work this afternoon it was over 50 on my way through town. Shouldn't have to worry about new ice forming by the weekend. But you might get pooped on by a goose. They were stacked in there thick on Sunday.

I might try the river running in at Charleston bridge, see if any walleye are moving up the river yet. Worst I could do would be a few whitefish for the smoker !!

Good luck if you go.

Three of us are thinking about trying it in our tubes on Monday so hopefully you can give us the latest conditions.

If it's not good then we will probably head south to Minersville.

Thanks!

I can't wait for D.C. to get its clean bill of health this year from the dead veliger scare to make boating easier.
