Ok so I'm trying to plan a trip to Fish Lake on Saturday or Sunday. Problem I have is that every weather Web site is different. What do you fishermen/women use? Hell if the weather cooperates I may stay overnight and go both days, if it's possible to camp on the ice.

I like the weather underground ap, seems to be fairly accurate, but doesn't really have a good wind speed indicator like I know some guys have... Hopefully they will speak up on that feature... I think it looks like the storm is supposed to be over by Saturday and sunday so you might be okay... Good luck... J

From what I got off weatherchannel.com, and have been checking it every day every couple of hours, it has been warm up there, but it is suppose to start freezing again tonight. Hopefully the edges are still good, looks like from some of the posts and videos, there is enough to maybe make it through this weekend. I called and reserved a cabin for me and the kid on Weds., for sunday-tuesday and the store said there was plenty of ice left and would most likely be good until March. Having fingers crossed that tonight and the next couple of nights will help out for a few extra days! If not, may have to see how the smaller lakes are around there..

this is the one I like, you can move around on the map and click a spot and it give you the forecast for there,
being NOAA it pretty good.

Weather apps and weather forecasts are all a guess. You all have seen and heard multiple weather forecasts be wrong, with some right. I have not gone on a trip before due to a forecast being windy. Talked to guys that fished that day with calm weather. I have also seen a good forecast and went and had strong winds. As for fish lake this weekend a storm is moving across utah Friday and Saturday most likely. Weather fronts bring snow/rain and winds. Sunday is supposed to be more calm. But that is all a guess, depending on the movement of the storm. There is a good chance of windy conditions on fish lake this weekend. How strong the winds are is another story. If you go there most likely will be some wind, but hopefully not too strong of winds. I am thinking of Sunday as well. I hope the winds are not to bad, but that is a chance I will have to take. Good luck weather predictions are tough.

A good rule of thumb at Fish Lake, in my experience so far, is to look at the expected wind speed and to expect gusts of about double that.

This is the same one I use. I believe most tv stations get their info from the feds. Seems to be pretty accurate. I like the wind speed charts too.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will check out everyone's suggestions. I'm sure they are all better than my current method. Look up the forcast and pick out the one I like.
