Sevier River water info
#1
Just some interesting info I was looking at concerning water on the Sevier drainage...

when we drove to Fish Lake on 2/10 Otter Creek (the creek) was running pretty high in the valley at Koosharem. Then again on 2/12 it was running high -- down through the Narrows it was raging and flooding over it's banks. Otter Creek Reservoir looks in good shape so far for water.

The Sevier River was also running pretty high through Circleville Canyon. The sensors are not working on it, so no data to display.

That warm spell and rainstorm really got some water moving! This is good news for many reservoirs (like Minersville!). Irrigation season has not started, so all that water coming down actually makes it to the reservoirs. If we can get some of them to fill up (like Minersville and Otter Creek) we can expect to have good fishing all summer, and into the next year too!

We are still at ~150% snowpack in most drainages around Utah. That might be bad news for people (ie: flooding), but it's good news for the fish!

Great news all the way around, especially since I should be able to get down there more this summer and fall. [Smile]

Not to hijack the thread but how do the game herds look down there?

my personal, limited, ignorant opinion is that the deer and elk look pretty good.
