Strawberry Narrows

My dad and I are taking a guy new to icefishing to the opening of the narrows towards the bay. We have a spot in there marked from someone else, but want to know of any slush or soft spots on the way out, as we have never been out there. Also some depths and jig choices for backup would be nice. Thanks for any info.

From Sunday ice was 26" with 6-8" of snow in the narrows.

I just sticked to 30' when I went and used white fresh water plastic 4"
