Fished today for about 4 hrs. No luck what so ever. Only saw a couple snagged. I think the fish were in there, just moved off into deeper water. We'll see what happends when the river comes up and the temps warm up.

The warmer day today and with the storms going through tonight, just might fit the bill. Temps look like they won't be changed with this front. (for a change). I think if we get a couple more days like today the fish will start coming up out of the deep. I saw 4 jon boats on lake rupert today but the anglers that I talked to said that the fishing is still not good. A couple of hits but no takers. I think I will wait another couple of weeks to hit the water.

Texas Gulf Coast Fisher.

Does that meen it is Time to start for me? It hit 70deg today and when I moved some junk wood out back today I found two small crawlers. Or should I give them some time to grow up before I make them fish food on a hook?

Texas Gulf Coast Fisher.

The river has been in flood stage all week. Muddy and high. Things are starting to come down now. Unfortunately I can't make it back up there until next Saturday. I will likely give it a shot then. Going to meet up with a few other GFO members.

Is there much in the way of shore fishing on the Detroit for 'eyes? Or is it all pretty much boat fishing? I have crossed the Huron a couple of times, and it looks like a GREAT steelheading river.

there is a 4 day walleye tournament going on, on the river this weekend.

there is a cou[ple of places that I know of on the river you can get on to fish for them.

get your map of Detroit out open it up all the way. (a city map is best)

at the beginning of the river where Lake St Clair comes in to the river there is a camp ground you can camp and fish from. but it is better to camp there and go over to Belle Isle to the canadian side there is a board walk by the coast gard station where you can fish for them. all though you can fish for them from just about any shore line on the island.

A spot closser to the Ohio Boarder is Wyondotte.
look at the map of Wyondotte.
look for Southfeild Road where it comes to the river and dead ends there is a board walk there you can fish off to catch walleye.

http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/MESS6438/
Lookie See what the kids are up to.
Dave T.
