I'm looking at the weather report for later in the week and thinking a Strawberry trip will happen.
I've seen a report the lake is now open... how are the roads into Soldier Creek?

My understanding is thats as far as you can go is the Strawberry Marina. The road to Renegade is still closed ?

I just called the Marina and the docks are in at Soldier Creek and Aspen Grove but she was not sure at the docks at the Marina ramp. However, boats are being launched there.

I never asked about the docks at the Strawberry Marina, was mostly concerned if the road was opened over to Byrants Fork or Renegade.

I will be launching at Soldier Creek tomorrow. I will be targeting kokanee - I know it is a bit early, but can't catch them without putting the line in the water. Hopefully before leaving I will take a cruise through the narrows over to Strawberry as well. The itch needs "scratchin".

Road into solider creek is good, enough snow that it's single lane for a few ~20 ft stretches but good. Renegade is still snowed off, there were tracks in the drifts further than I took my car. But there was a road closed sign up still. Hope that helps.

welcome to the board Craigers. That is about what I saw a week ago Monday. Unfortunately last weeks weather did not cooperate. Looks like good weather for my first time this year on SC/Strawberry.

Hello John
I too will be very interested in knowing how your first trip to Strawberry for kokes goes. I have to fish Deer Creek Thursday, do the flotilla thing at Willard on Saturday, then pretty much spend the summer at Strawberry for kokes, maybe starting next week, depending on the weather and wind.

My last trip was to Deer Creek as well. Thankfully it was April 5th, 28 days and well past the 18 days required dry time. I thought about the flotilla. It would be great to meet a lot of the BFT guys and gals. But kokanee dominate my attentions. Of course I will report. Wish me luck.
