Unfortunately the Saratoga Springs Marina Park boat launch is still closed.
The dredging barge has hit a hard layer of dense clay and is having a very difficult time cutting through it with his equipment.
I do not make the final decision but my guess is that the closure will remain in place for 3-4 more weeks.
Fishing outside the harbor is tough due to the noise/equipment movement.
Fishing inside the marina is fruitless also. In order to dredge during the June sucker spawning period we contracted the Loy family to remove all fish from the marina and put a fish net across the harbor opening to keep the fish out.
No fish were harmed in this process. The lake level was so low at the time that only a few carp and cats were 'relocated' to the lake.
This is a bummer to have this work going on right now but will be worth it in the future.
The dredging will leave this harbor floor at the elevation of '4481, which I believe will be the deepest marina on the lake.
Thank you for your patience.
